Creative Dreaming  by Dr. Patricia Garfield is an excellent abridged  version of her book by the same name. The audio program offers  suggestions to induce and inspire creative dreaming, explains what  creative dreaming is about, and explains techniques anyone can use to  remember dreams. She includes a special section on how to combat  nightmares as well as a guided visualization at the end to help you meet  and interact with important dream characters. This has been a favorite  bedtime audio of mine for literally decades now. The techniques really  work well and can be helpful for people who are new at working with  dream imagery and symbolism. If anything, Dr. Garfield's soothing voice  can be a sleep inducer by itself. 
Dreams are more than just random images that play in your head at night.  They are a source of inspiration and transformation that can have a  profound effect on your waking state. While everyone dreams, not  everyone makes use of this unique resource. Patricia Garfield presents  techniques and information, drawn from many dreamers and widely varied  cultures and times, that will enable you to plan your dreams ahead of  time, influence them while they are occurring, and recall them and their  lessons forever afterward.
